Smells

My job for at least the next three or four weeks is working in the Berg Field Center (BFC). It is like a giant REI store for scientists. We store, prepare, repair, and issue all the science gear that is used for the different science expiditions. Supposedly the BFC is known around town, among other things, as the Big Fun Center or the Building Full of Chicks. So far we have just been putting together what are called survival packs which are giant bags that contain a tent, stove, sleeping bags, some food, ect... If you leave town whether it be driving or flying you are supposed to take a survival bag. I wouldn't say it has been the most exciting work but it could definitely be worse.
Besides myself in the BFC, there is only one other guy whose name is Nate. There are 11 other girls who work there. This ratio is crazy considering the population here seems to be like 70%guys, 28%females, and 2% unable to be identified due to all the extreme cold weather gear they are always wearing.
Thusfar I haven't experienced a lot of good smells on this trip. I traveled with a group of 60 heavy equipment operators down here from Denver and then moved into a dorm room with a guy who has been here through the winter. The best part about being in the BFC is that it smells fairly pleasant. I would compare it to the feel a girls house has compared to that of a group of guys. Guys' houses usually are messier, feel less cozy, and often smell of old pizza, sweaty socks, and stinky farts. Girls' houses usually feel really comfy and smell like scented candles. It is nice to go to work and get a break from the fart stench.

On a side note the girl who I will be working with the whole season is Jane Fonda's adopted daughter, her name is Mary. Here is the proof:
