No Groundhog Needed

After getting caught in a rainstorm in Death Valley, a place that has actually had years where the annual rainfall recorded has been 0 inches, I have finally come to terms with the fact that I have a couple more months of winter before I'm out of it.
Since leaving the Ice, all I have wanted to do is get away from winter. This desert trip was my last attempt to find some warm weather. It didn't happen. We drove through winter storms, camped out in 13 degree weather, hiked in waist deep snow, and got caught in a downpour in one of the driest places on Earth. I get it. It's winter. I have decided not to fight it anymore. I've decided to accept the fact that the weather for the next couple of months will be similar to what it was for the past 8 months of my life, dark and cold.
It seems that my acceptance of more winter was rewarded. The moment after I stated aloud that "I get it," our trip was graced with a few sunny days, clear nights with meteor showers, slot canyons, sand dunes, and a real Wyoming winter treat, clear road conditions.
Here are some pictures from the trip:

The starting line - run from slot canyon all the way down to the lowest spot in Northern Hemisphere 282 feet below sea level.

Ran down into this scene badwater basin which sits at minus 282 ft. sea level
